Being one of the premier wedding photographers in Long Beach, CA including and being preferred photographers at the Queen Mary and the Hotel Maya, two of the more popular places to have a wedding in Long Beach area, it only seems appropriate to share our unique perspective in the business of wedding photography regarding what we see regarding proposals and engagements at this time of year. As we enter the holiday season we definitely see an uptick in proposals and engagements.
Occasionally the groom-to-be hires us to document the proposal and then likes our work so much that they also hire us for the wedding photography itself, but more often than not we see this increase as inquiries into what exactly entails to hire a wedding photographer and what to expect at each stage of the process. Many soon to be bride and grooms are not aware that the wedding photographer will be the wedding vendor with whom they will spend the most time before, during and after the wedding day. We welcome this time of year as an opportunity to meet new friends, inform inquiring recently engaged couples, and importantly for our business, book weddings for the coming year!
Caught in the Moment Photography is a Long Beach based photography studio that specializes in weddings and whose local coverage ranges from the local venues in Long Beach such as the Hotel Maya and the Queen Mary, but also stretch north into some of the most renown venues in the Los Angeles Area and south into Orange County.
The Photographers at Caught in the Moment Photography are very familiar with several convention centers all over the United States. Although based in Southern California and thus call the Long Beach, Anaheim and Los Angeles Convention Centers home, our photographers are also intimately familiar with the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV, the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, OR, the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX, and the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. Our clients hold annual conferences and conventions all over the country and because they know the quality of the images we provide and the quick turnaround time they gladly bring us along.
Conferences and conventions quite often have numerous concurrent sessions going on. It is in cases like this when it becomes invaluable for the photographers to know the ins and outs of the convention center where the event is being held. Not only is it important that the photographer can find all the rooms, but because the sessions are only happening for a determined period of time then also the how to quickly get to the rooms becomes also very important.
It is for both of theses reasons that we recommend that you a hire a conference or convention photographer that is a) specialized in conferences and conventions, b) knows the layout of the venue literally inside and out, and hopefully c) familiar with the specific association or organization hosting the conference so that there is a familiarity with the subject matter and the important and key players.

We typically use green screen photography technology for our corporate clients when we photograph their products or in the case of our theater clients when they want to photograph characters of their theatrical productions and use them for promotional purposes. Many of those clients are either in the entertainment industry, and many of them are just so close to Hollywood and the Los Angeles Area that they know of the capabilities of the green screen technology. We very often get requests to bring our mobile photography studio on location and essentially become the entertainment for the evening.
One of the many services we provide is printing on site, so when combined with this green screen mobile portrait studio we essentially become a photo booth that is out in the open so we can accommodate larger groups that would be unable to physically fit in a photo booth and also the other guests that are not in the photograph can see exactly what the process is and they can start planning what their photo will be like.
We look forward, as the calendar year comes to a close to put this green screen photography technology to uses at many corporate holiday parties, whether its at a company Christmas party or at a year-end awards ceremony celebrating the many accomplishments of our clients. One of the fun aspects of using this green screen technology is that we can either use a holiday or winter scene as the background or we can use an image that is important to the client or related to the client’s industry.
Although we are based in Long Beach, we photograph special events all over the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Some of the event venues where we often work at end of the year special events are the Hotel Maya, the Hyatt, Westin and Hilton Hotels in Long Beach. As a matter of fact, the end of year holiday season is a busy time for the photographers at Caught in the Moment Photography. Whether it’s a Christmas party, a New Year’s Eve party or simply an end of year event where recognitions are made, our photographers are a key component of the event that signals to the guests that no detail has been overlooked.
As a matter of fact many companies hire our photographers for these parties not only to document the awards that are given out at many of these special events but because many of the guests very often make special efforts to dress up we are also hired to provide a special take-home memento of the occasion. With our green screen technology and our print on site capabilities the special event guests can leave the party with a framed photograph that many of them will end up using either as their Christmas end of year holiday card. The services that we can provide can be as simple as the documenting of the awards and presentations or quit literally we can become the entertainment for the evening by having an open air photobooth type of setup where the guests can interact with their families and coworkers and end up with a customized image of themselves.
