Winter tips for your children to stay healthy

Posted in: Industry News

With the lovely winter weather and holiday spirit, come some not so great things. Things like the cough, sore throats, and the sniffles is what we tend to see at this time of the year! Nothing is more of a pain then trying to beat a cold! The Learning Tree worries about the health of our kid. As a preschool and daycare, kids are around other kids and toys all the time and are even more likely to interact with germs. We always take our best precautions to keep the little ones happy and healthy but there are always some other precautions parents and kids can take outside of The Learning Tree to help. Some simple options include:

  1. Washing your hands more often – Especially before eating or after playing with toys and at the park!
  2. Maintaining a healthy diet and drinking a lot of water. Vitamins help fight off bacteria and studies show that those who eat more fruits and vegetables tend not to catch the common cold as often.
  3. Hand Sanitizer. This is a cheap, easy and quick way to clean their little fingers that tend to get into everything!
  4. Vitamin C! Most grocery stores tend to sell  packets with flavored powder  that can be powered into water and help boost your immune system as the powder is filled with nutrients and vitamins.
  5. A more serious option would be receiving a flu shot. They are offered at most pharmacies and doctors offices.

Please note; Here at The Learning tree we do everything we can to prevent the spread of germs and sickness. Please do your part in keeping your child at home if they have a fever or the flu so it does not get spread to our other students. Thank you for your cooperation!
