Problem:  High utility costs and uneven temperatures through out building

Solution:  High heat reflecting commercial solar film

Facilities manager of Prime Source Corp. had contacted us after recently upgrading cooling and heating system looking for ways to further stabilize temperature through out building and reduce the utility cost of the building.

Building has single pane glass with no heat rejection coating in the glass.  Solution was simple, high heat reflecting commercial solar film. 

We recommended the highest heat rejection film the market had to offer, SL-180 with an 83% heat rejection.  The product is 100% metallized with no dyes and is warranted by manufacturer for 15 years.

We also used the Department of Energy’s fenestration analysis software package to show the reduction in utility cost and the payback on the investment in solar film.  We ran the test twice and it calculated an astounding 12 month pay back!

After installing the solar film in one office as a test, the employee in the office noticed a huge reduction in temperature and comfort in the office immediately.  At that point it was clear this was the solution they needed and we were told to proceed.

Building was 5 stories and the project took 4-5 weeks to complete.  After filming just one floor the patrons on that floor noticed an immediate temperature reduction.  Once completed we changed the entire environment of the building.
