Houston, TX – Coronavirus Website, Online and Social Media Business Updates

Posted in: Industry News

Most everyone has been effected by the coronavirus pandemic. Small business has been hit the hardest across numerous industries. It is our job as small business owners to let our potential customers know how we are transitioning operations during this period. The goal is to minimize damages and save as many jobs as possible.

Below is a quick checklist of website and online edits you should make:

  • Login into google my business and update your business is hours. If you use any directory management software, for example MOZ Local or Yext, make these changes here as well. Local Directory software is a great way to manage all your directory listings across the web from one place.
  • Update your business hours on your website. If you hours of operation are buried in your website you may want to move them to be front and center.
  • Add a notification to your website to inform visitors that you are indeed still conducting business and what that looks like. We suggest adding a lightbox pop-up window or a horizontal bar than spans the width of the page located at the top of your website with your notification.
    • If your business has undergone a drastic change you might want to create an entire page outlining these changes and link to it.
  • Let customers know if you’re offering any specials or price reduced items. We are all conserving our money during this time and every savings helps.
  • Are you often offering delivery service or curbside pickup? If so let your customers know and the details.
  • Last, communicate these new parameters using bulk email blast and social media platforms.

So in conclusion don’t wait to inform your customers how you are currently conducting business. We have to be proactive during these times. If you need help with any of these edits reach out anytime.
