Houston, TX – Top Problems with Office Waste, Solved with Commercial Recycling

Posted in: Special Offer

For years and years, the average office worker has generated a significant amount of waste, ranging from hundreds of disposable coffee cups each year to thousands of pages of paper. Today, this is still a problem, but with many more working from home, the wastefulness now extends from office buildings to houses as well. Consider ways to reduce office waste through office recycling and recycling pick up of common office waste products.

Mixed Paper Products

The problem: Paper is a huge part of running an office. Sadly, it has been noted that most paper is thrown away after just 24 hours, and as much as 30% of all printed paper is never retrieved from the printer. This product accounts for almost 70% of all office waste.

The Solution:  So what can be done about it? Recycling is the key. Paper can be recycled up to 7 times before it degrades. Set up an office recycling plan in your office to eliminate waste.

Food

The Problem: It is estimated that up to a pound of food is wasted per person per day. In America, we throw away a lot of food scraps, even in the office.

The Solution: Setting up a recycling compost plan can be the answer to food waste in the office.

Plastics

The Problem: Plastic bottles and plastic grocery bags produce a lot of waste each year headed for landfills. It’s quick and easy to buy a bottle of water to take to work and then just dispose of it when you are done. But that’s not always the best way.

The Solution: Set up an office recycling program with bins for certain items, including plastics. Learn which plastics are accepted by a recycling pickup program and do your part in the office to recycle plastic bottles.
