Like all electronics outdoor LED signs and moisture do not mix. Day to day outdoor operation without shelter from the elements means that LED signs must be appropriately encapsulated to protect the circuitry not only from moisture but corrosion and shock/vibration. Flow-able materials are used to encase electronic parts without interrupting the operation of the components.

Our vendor’s electronic message center signs and gas price signs withstand very harsh climates because they use full module encapsulation to keep out water, corrosion, salt and dust. The module is completely sealed (front and back) to ensure reliable protection from the elements. These modules can function under water for months at a time.

Electrical insulators protect the modules from airborne corrosive salts as confirmed not just in the lab but by hundreds of coastal customers using these LED products in ocean air environments. Silicone gels are used to add further protection throughout the entire product line. The modules also feature a network of copper that helps to dissipate heat and pull it away from each circuit board. Cross vented cabinets in the front pull cool air in, circulating heated air up and out of the rear of the cabinet.
