Say it all with “BIG, BOLD” Banners

We’re waiting for our client to pull the trigger on a banner project aimed at promoting the availability of small suites at a downtown commercial building. The project involves two large 3 ft. by 20 ft banners that will hang between the second and third floors of the building and intersect at the street corner. The project got me thinking about just how effective over-sized banners are at drawing attention and delivering a timely marketing message in a bold and vivid way. We’re used to seeing the traditional grand opening banner, sales promotion and the school sports related ones for little league soccer and football, but more and more we are seeing banners used for a variety of other purposes.

Event related banners are extremely popular and can be used to announce a baby’s birth, thank a worker for a job well done, or promote a social or business related gathering. Interestingly enough we are currently working on a birthday banner for one of my dearest friends who is having a milestone birthday. The theme for this banner is to create a photo collage of her many interests, milestones and talents. In fact, it will be a challenge to fit the many photos of her as the deep sea diver, pilot, mother, surgeon, skier and hiker that she is. And that was only a partial list! I’m guessing we’ll need to make the banner a fairly generous size.
