Tenant Identification Signs and Directories

Posted in: Industry News

When it comes to standardization and uniformity, tenant identification/floor directories can be quite a challenge. Some floors may be laid out very differently from others, or perhaps a single commercial tenant occupies an entire floor, making it difficult to standardize on a particular size for the floor directories. However, by tying the style and color palate of the directory sign together with tenant identification signs, these signs can be developed in a way that compliments the building structure and gives the appearance of uniformity.

We’re currently working with one of our commercial real estate broker client’s on standardizing the directories for a building they manage in downtown Oakland. Over time the building directories have been replaced from time to time, and though the overall style and size have remained somewhat uniform, subtle changes in color e.g. dark grey vs. black, rounded corners vs. square ones, etc. has caused a less than professional look. By working with our extensive array of directory vendors we have identified the particular style that the property manager’s wish to standardize on, while at the same time minimizing the number of directories that will need to be changed throughout in the nine story building.

If you manage large buildings or complex multi-tenant structures or need a sign company to assist you in a variety of standardization and upgrade sign projects give SignWorks a call at (510) 357-2000. We look forward to working with you!
