Hayward, CA – Trader Joe’s Signicade, Interior Directional and ADA Sign Orders

SignWorks continues to fabricate a variety of signs for national retailer Trader Joe’s.  This week we shipped a Signicade to the Santa Ana, CA store and three each of the DO NOT BLOCK and NOT AN EXIT directional signs to the Pasadena, CA store.   We also sent five 12” by 6” ADA signs (pictured) to the Ahwtukee, AZ store and we are working on a mixture of cut vinyl decals and interior directional signs for several other stores.  There will be a brand new store opening soon and we will be fabricating several banners, store hours and branding decals and other materials for this event.  We will provide more details about this later.  Additional tasks this week included adding a 4” by 18” fire extinguisher sign to the Trader Joe’s ordering catalog.

Joe Coulombe founded the company in 1958 when Joe took over a small chain of convenience stores around the LA area and called them Pronto Markets.  After ten years later it became obvious that the convenience store formula needed some refinement and Joe decided to open the first Trader Joe’s store in 1967 in Pasadena, CA.  When he became aware of the changing demographics he decided to get a better education and he used his G. I. Bill benefits to get it.  Soon after he decided to deliver something a little different and the nautical theme he decided on certainly paid off!  Joe’s team members still consider themselves “traders on the culinary seas.” They’re known for being nice, helpful, well informed, and for their brightly colored, tropical-patterned shirts.
