Hayward, CA – LED Illuminated Sign Cabinets and Letters

SignWorks  works with a few favorites when it comes to producing illuminated signs whether front lit, back lit, or both front and back lit.  And, our fabricator in Hayward has just completed the pictured illuminated sign cabinet made of aluminum with a routed acrylic face covered with a colorful translucent vinyl print.  This type of vinyl allows the light behind the print to show through.  The sides of the cabinet are formed by bending the strips of aluminum, called returns, and attaching them to the back of the cut out aluminum or acrylic face. The process involves using a CNC router to create the various shapes.

And, there are a variety of options when it comes to illuminated signs.  These include:

• Front Lit Channel Letters: The letters are produced using the latest technology and equipment and are designed to match the most exacting customer specifications.  These letters are very popular and can be produces fairly quickly.
• Reverse Channel Letters (Radiant Back Lit): This popular lettering style involves welding aluminum returns to the aluminum face.  Light is emitted from the back on the letter onto the wall where the letters are mounted.  It creates negative space at night.  Also, when the inside of the letter is painted gloss white it causes the bright LED’s to shine even brighter out of the polycarbonate backer which creates a radiant back lit letter.
• Front & Back Lit Channel Letters: This process allows the face of the letter to be illuminated while simultaneously allowing light to shine out of the back of the latter.  By adding translucent vinyl to the face of the letter or changing the color of the LED’s, clients can add sizzle and color to the lettering.
• Exposed Neon (LED) Channel Letters: Exposed channel letters look like standard channel letters but the face of the letter is not covered with plastic.  Unfortunately, many California cities no longer allow exposed neon channel letters, so it is extremely important to check with your local city for the ordinances that apply in your particular area.
