Walnut Creek, CA – What A Fun Aluminum Sign Project!

Posted in: Industry News

SignWorks had a lot of fun with this project!  Our client had moved from Oakland in 2017 and sent us a picture of a welcome to Oakland sign.  She wanted to know if we could make her a more personalized version of the street sign showing the 2017 population count minus one.  Once we agreed on the size and scale, we sent her a design proof to approve.  We ordered the aluminum 36” by 24” sign blank and got to work fabricating her sign.  The project took a week to complete from order placement, to delivery of the sign blank, to ordering UPS pick-up on Friday.  Staying with a standardized aluminum sign blank kept the project more affordable for the client.

Aluminum sign blanks come in a variety of standard sizes and many of the parking restriction and traffic oriented signs come in pre-lettered variations.  Aluminum signs hold up well to the outdoor elements.  For larger building signs, we order 8 ft. by 4 ft. or 10 ft. by 5 ft. aluminum sheeting that can be cut to size and mounted on exterior building fascia or between sign metal or wooden posts.  They are a perfect substrate for adding either cut vinyl lettering or mounting digital prints.

SignWorks has been providing aluminum signs of all types to Bay Area clients since 2008.  These have included other fun projects like this one, parking restriction signs, exterior building signs, and a host of post and signs.  When you are anticipating your next outdoor sign project we hope you will think of us.  Call us at (510) 357-2000  or visit our website to learn more about us.  When you there you can read about our more recent projects, check out blog posts and view photographs. We look forward to connecting with you soon!
