San Francisco, CA – Specialty ADA for A San Francisco Government Agency

SignWorks was approached by a prospect, Calitho in Concord, to assist with a project they were working on for a San Francisco government agency.  The work would require custom ADA (Americans with Disabilities) signs.  Initially the task seemed fairly straight forward but as the weeks progressed we learned that the agency would require custom color matching and the certification of the braille and tactile by San Francisco’s Light House for The Blind.  Initially, we moved forward with the proofing process but it became readily apparent that the agency was very specific about how the text needed to line up and they were very exacting about the sizing requirements.  Any deviations would render the project as unapproved!

SignWorks has two favored vendors when it comes to ADA signage.  Both, Venus Architectural and Eire Markings are favored wholesalers.  Both use differing processes to bring their products to market.  And. When it comes to fully injection molded Braille and Tactile signs, it would be need to be fabricated by Integrity Group who specializes in custom injection molded integral Braille and Tactile signs.  Our calibration with both company’s over the years has meant a truly miraculous number of satisfied clients!

The signs, as pictured, were delivered to Calitho yesterday and we are told that they look great and are perfectly color matched.  We were also told the certification process will soon be underway.  Calitho was founded in 1985 and is a full service printing operation delivering printing and display products from their 100 person facility in Concord.
