San Leandro, CA – Acrylic Room Identification Signs For McNely Construction

SignWorks had not worked with San Leandro based McNely Construction before whose client was attempting to match some existing acrylic room signs (as pictured).  Their client was very specific about the 9” by 9” room signs that needed to be made from ¼” thick matte finished acrylic to exactly match the other room signs used throughout the building.  These seven signs along with three backer for locations where the signs were being mounted to glass, had specific grey color call outs and square edges.

Our design team got to work creating the approval layouts and confirming the font used and background color.  Once approved we ordered the matte finished acrylic lens, printed the room names and mounted them to the underside of the acrylic lens to exactly match the other room signs throughout the client’s facility in Concord.  Because this was a time-sensitive project, we hand delivered the finished project to the client’s Concord location where McNely employees would mount them.

Originally founded in 1958 as a small contracting business in Oakland, CA concentrating mostly on structural concrete projects, the business expanded to other types of new construction throughout the 60’s and 70’s.  It now includes major remodeling and rehabilitation projects in the commercial sector.  Most of the projects are done right here in the Bay Area but the company has also done concrete work in other western states including Hawaii and American Samoa.  They have also renovated abandoned buildings, canneries and factories and been involved in major structural remodeling and rehabilitation projects.  They do lots of new construction as well.  Warren McNely became the sole owner of the company in the mid 1980’s and passed the reigns to Dan McNely in 2012.
