Hayward, CA – Lobby Signs with An Acrylic Backer Make Future Painting Easier!

SignWorks was recently approached by a prospective customer to fabricate a lobby sign for their reception area.  The client was clear that an acrylic backer was essential and cited that it made future maintenance at the facility that much easier.

As a company we have mounted many logo signs, dimensional or otherwise, directly to the wall.   However, when it’s time to paint and freshen up the space it can be difficult to accomplish without some forethought.  The dimensional logos or letters would need to be completely masked or removed for the wall.  If removed, it would be essential to create a paper pattern to ensure the lettering, when remounted to the wall, is aligned correctly.  Even if the logo or lettering was done in vinyl, pealing it from the wall can cause damage to the drywall and require the services of a paint contractor to repair and repaint the damaged area.

Our new prospect has a very colorful corporate logo spelling out the company name and it contains some circular design elements.  We are investigating using cut vinyl mounted to the backer as well as having our wholesaler Gemini produce the logo in ¼” flat cut acrylic and then mounting that to the acrylic backer.  This wholesaler is a leader in the industry and their products feature a lifetime warranty.  We’ll keep you posted on what the client decides.
