San Francisco, CA – 75 Hawthorne Evacuation and Exit Signs for Pacific Ridge Builders

We were the signage vendor for this 20 story commercial building a few years back and have worked on additional signage for the building when there were some recent renovations to the 5^th Floor.  We have since been contacted by Pacific Ridge Builders, a general contractor in Santa Clara on some additional renovations to the 20^th Floor.  We are now in the process of reviewing the new core maps and researching a size variation that will allow the stair evacuation maps to be slightly smaller while still complying with the guidelines set by the San Francisco Fire Department.  There are specific guideline with regard to the size of the lettering, corridors, symbols, etc. which ultimately dictate the size of the finished map.

At present it looks like we’ll be working with our wholesale partner to supply a full sized elevator evacuation map at 19” by 39”, two stair evacuation maps at 15” by 33”, a 6” by 6” exit map and an 8” by 6” exit release sign.  These ADA (Americans with Disabilities) custom signs are fabricated as part of a thermal molding process where the Braille/Tactile is part of the actual sheeting material.  Other processes chemically weld and attach the Braille/Tactile as a separate process.  The colors will remain in the brown and white color palette to match the remaining signs throughout the building.  Since we won’t be doing the installation we’ll need to wait for the builder to supply us with photographs after the fact.  We’ll post these after the project is complete.
