Berkeley, CA – Shattuck Here Project Is Complete with Unique, Colorful ADA Signs

Posted in: Industry News

Our client, AMP Printing, is a major print vendor in Dublin.  They had been working with Gensler, an architectural firm, to provide prints for the Shattuck Here project. Since the end client also needed ADA (Americans with Disabilities) signs, SignWorks was called in to supply them.  Gensler and their client were not interested in the stuffy every day variety of ADA signs we are all so used to seeing.  Gensler had designed the ADA room ID, restroom and fire corridor signs to be bold, edgy and brightly colored as shown in the pictures.  The design process was extensive and the submittals process was a lengthy one.  The samples were modified and a special metal bracket was created so that the corridor signs would appear to float from the wall.  Once the corridor signs are mounted to the bracket the bracket is virtually invisible.

The project consisted of 11 custom turquoise blue/white room identification signs with multiple components and overall measurements at 7” wide and 5” tall, 4 restroom signs mounted to a white backer, and four 7” wide by 6.75” tall red and white fire corridor signs.

The AMP Printing client base reads like the Who’s Who of Silicon Valley and we were delighted to partner with them in supplying the ADA signs for their project.  The company has been around since its founding 1979 and like SignWorks it is woman owned.  They have a staff of about 150 employees operating in a 200,000 square foot state of the art facility in Dublin, CA.  The company provides several print services including traditional offset printing, short run digital printing, large format digital printing, letterpress and more.  They also offer their clients bindery, kitting and fulfillment services.

If you have an upcoming building renovation and need ADA signs or evacuation maps, then SignWorks can help.  We are the vendor of choice for many business owners, property managers and construction companies.   SignWorks can be reached at (510) 357-2000.  Just give us a call to discuss your ADA and fire safety sign needs.   We can help you with design and layout, fabrication and installation, all at an affordable price point.  The customization options are virtually limitless.  Visit our website to view photographs of recent projects, read our blog posts, or to learn more about who we are and how we can be of service.
