Pleasanton, CA – Gap, Inc. ADA Tenant and Vinyl Sign Installation Nears Completion

Posted in: Industry News

SignWorks has delivered and installed the majority of the Gap, Inc. ADA tenant sign and the cut vinyl decals (12 in all) for the trash, compost and recycle bins.  We’re waiting for the corridor sign blanks to be delivered by our wholesale partner, Gemini.   The 6” by 6” exposed area of these 20 flag mounted corridor signs will be lettered with a fire extinguisher symbol on both sides and installed on the first and second floors that were renovated.  They are a part of the fire safety signage needed for commercial buildings when they are remodeled.  We will also need to fabricate the 11 evacuation maps (sized at 11” wide X 18” tall) once the Fire Marshall has approved the printed maps copies that we provided.

The project was one of our larger ones involving a 6 ft. wide and ½” thick painted aluminum Gap logo dimensional sign for the lobby area, 20 sets of cut vinyl letters for the fire extinguisher cabinets, and 135 ADA signs including room identification, rest rooms, directory inserts, exit signs and more, in a variety of sizes and configurations.  This excludes the 11 evacuation signs.  The collaboration between our staff and theirs was virtually seamless and, with the exception of a supplier delay at the very end of the project, everything went very smoothly.

Our process included detailed submittals that were reviewed by the client and their architects.  We supplied design proofs from our suppliers and fabricated the signs that were being made in house.  We were also responsible for the coordination of the engraved sign panels from a local partner and for ordering the many standardized products like vinyl and brackets from our regular product suppliers. We have some post installation pictures will share more over the next few week.

In 1969 Gap owners Doris and Don Fisher came up with the simple idea of making it easier to find a pair of jeans and, while also committing to do much more.  The company is now a global fashion business, comprised of the Gap, banana republic, Old Navy, Athleta and Intermix.  There are 400 franchise stores in 90 countries and over 3,300 company operated stores.  And. this doesn’t include the e-commerce sites which allows for even greater exposure!

If you’re working on a building renovation or have been tagged by the Fire Marshall for ADA or fire safety signs, we’d love to hear from you! Reach out to us at (510) 357-2000.  Whether you are looking for exterior or interior ADA signs or engraving, we hope you will connect with SignWorks as your go-to source. We are happy to report that we work with a variety of corporate clients, contractors and architects to provide signage for projects large and small throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.  We’ve been doing so since 2008.  Please visit our website to learn more about our company, our projects and/or to view recent blog posts and photographs.
