We are happy to report that we won the bid to fabricate Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) signs for the CalVet organization in Los Angeles, CA.  We couldn’t be more pleased and we’re working hard to make sure they are as pleased as we are.  Sometimes working with government agencies can be hard and getting used to payment terms that do not include our traditional 50% deposit, can cause some pain.  However, that being said, the interaction with the staff has been exemplary. We are still in the design and approval phase so we don’t have finished signs to show you just yet. The generic ones pictured will give you the general idea.

The ink is still wet on our contract but we asked for a sign sample for color matching and it arrived two days later.  When we asked for explanation when the guidelines and photographs sent were unclear, the timely response was fast and accurate.  The organization’s responsiveness and attention to detail has allowed us to provide proofs for this large project in record time and we were surprised that their staff sent same day edits.

They say that projects tend to take on the behavior in the way that they start, so clearly this project is going to be a breeze.  The project consists of interior Braille beaded tenant signs in a variety of configurations, as well as some with windows and pull tabs, as well as several blanks along with adhesive supplies.  Like many government remote projects, the project does not include an installation component.

As a small minority owned business, SignWorks is a certified vendor at the state and local level.  These certifications allow us to be visible to government agencies who need our services and manufacturing capabilities.  However, ADA signage is a broad category, so if your company has a need for them we hope you’ll reach out to us. We can be reached at (510) 357-2000 .  Visit our website to look at some of our other ADA project photos and blog posts.
