Center for Jewish Life, Palo Alto, California
Architects – Steinberg Architects

We continue to do sign project work for the Oshman Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto, CA.  Our latest project which is nearing completion involves the creation of four banners, each 6 feet wide and in lengths that correspond with the sloping groove alongside their building.  The oversized banners with the following dimensions are scheduled to arrive from our wholesale partner, Orbus, today:

  • Banner 1: 297” left facing edge, 291” right edge
  • Banner 2: 282” left facing edge, 276” right edge
  • Banner 3: 267” left facing edge, 261” right edge
  • Banner 4: 252” left facing edge, 246” right edge

While we are excited that the project is drawing to a close, there is still lots to do!  We have to keep track of the weather conditions in Palo Alto because the location where the banners are being installed requires a 60’ tall articulating boom lift to reach the heights where each banner will be mounded.  The façade rendering above will give you a sense of scale.  We will need two consecutive days without rain or wind as we don’t want our crew members subjected to possible danger or injury while working at such a height.  We also have to assemble the right team bearing in mind that not everyone is comfortable working at extreme heights like these.

The Oshman JCC provides extensive services to its community and the banners (see the art proof below) reflect a sample of their on campus offering.  The campus boasts a sports and wellness center, café, and premier event venue.  The class and program offering includes educational and social opportunities for Jewish people of all ages.  Jewish people are also afforded the opportunity to learn and grow in their understanding of Jewish and Russian faith, history, culture and the arts.

SignWorks would love to work with you on your future banner needs be they large or small!
