Specialty Vehicle Wrap Materials: Carbon Fiber

Posted in: Industry News

Vehicle wrap materials like Carbon Fiber are providing that sporty aftermarket finish that looks like the real thing yet it’s more versatile and less expensive. Often installed on hoods, trunks, spoilers, side view mirrors, and interior plastic, the look is sporty and unique and can turn a motorcycle or automobile into a show piece.
Made by 3M the Di-Noc Carbon Fiber is a simulated carbon fiber vinyl that is extremely realistic looking. It has been designed to reflect light the same way that real carbon fiber would, making it the best real-world alternative to carbon fiber. The material can be applied easily to any smooth surface, flat or curved. In fact, the material won the Global Media Award at the 2009 SEMA Show.

If you are considering a carbon fiber vehicle and/or accessory wrap there is one caveat you should consider. Unlike typical wrap materials, carbon fiber vinyl is not easily removed. Typically it will last four years but removing it will likely cause damage to the underlying paint job. As such, you will need to plan on repainting or re-wrapping the vehicle.
At SignWorks we are happy to consult with you on your vehicle wrap so that you select the material and type of vehicle wrap that is right for you!
