Oshman Family JCC Building Banner Repairs in Palo Alto

Posted in: Industry News

Product: Building Banners

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Client: Oshman Family Jewish Community Center

Unless you are a sign professional, you probably take for granted the many signs you encounter each day, with little or no thought to the design, manufacturing and installation process that brought them to you. Because signs are usually one-of-a-kind rather than mass-produced, each project is unique.

In addition to new signs, SignWorks, Hayward, CA, often receives requests to repair, replace or remove existing signs. Recently, we worked with the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center (OFJCC) to remove one of three large outdoor banners attached to the side of a brick building at their Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life in Palo Alto, CA, because it was tearing.  We also secured a second banner to prevent tearing issues in the future.

Installing or servicing exterior building signage requires renting specialized equipment, contracting experienced installers and negotiating the city sign permit process. For this project, SignWorks contracted with Hertz Equipment Rental, Berkeley for a 60-ft. articulating boom lift, dispatched a qualified two-person crew and completed the work in a few hours. The OFJCC will work with SignWorks to design, manufacture and install three new 10 ft. x 25 ft. banners soon.

SignWorks excels in sign project management and we are often contracted by construction firms and sign companies from around the country to manage local work for them. Our first project for the OFJCC, contracted by a Georgia-based architectural sign company, allowed us to demonstrate our expertise in the many challenges of manufacturing, transporting and installing large building signs. When they needed help with the outdoor banners, the OFJCC called us directly.

In addition to a sports and wellness center, café, and premier event venue, the OFJCC Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life offers education and social opportunities for Jewish people of all ages to learn and grow in their understanding of Jewish and Russian faith, history, culture and the arts.

We’d love to help you negotiate the challenges of large building signs! Please call us today at (510) 357-2000 to discuss your new or replacement sign project.
