Lobby Signs with Acrylic Backers and Stand-offs Come with Benefits!

We are partial to lobby signs mounted to acrylic backers for the same reason that many property owners request them.  It makes painting highly trafficked areas and frontal reception walls a breeze!!

When dimensional letters or vinyl wall graphics are applied directly to the wall they must be removed very carefully.  Even then the risk of damage to the wall surface is still likely.   And, in the case of dimensional letters/logos that have been stud mounted to drywall, there may be even more damage to the wall e.g. paint scratches and nicks, holes in the drywall, etc.  Not to mention the need to reorder the mounting pattern to ensure the letters/logo are remounted with the proper kerning (or spacing alignment).  It makes sign installation and future wall maintenance, like painting, a snap!

We looked through our archives and decided on two favorites to share with our readers.  The first one pictured above was commissioned by Excel Realty & Mortgage.  The original sign had been made in Canada and we were asked to replicate it for a branch in Pleasanton, CA.  Using ½” thick optically clear acrylic lettering and logo swoosh, we mounted brushed aluminum vinyl to the face of the logo and lettering.  We then applied a burgundy colored print in the client’s selected Pantone color to the 24” by 52” backer.  The lettering was then mounted to the backer.  The assembled lobby sign was then mounted to the lobby wall using four brushed aluminum stand offs.

The second one pictured here was designed in house using the client’s logo and ¼” thick flat cut brushed aluminum letters and metallic (charcoal bronze) vinyl for the map shaped graphic.  The assembled 18” by 60” clear acrylic sign with lettering and logo was then mounted to the wall using brushed aluminum stand offs.
