Project Update | Excel Mortgage & Realty Dimensional Lobby Sign

Every once in a while we get to work on something that is both unique and beautiful at the same time! The new lobby sign we created back in December, 2014 for Excel Realty and Mortgage proved to be just one of those opportunities.

Excel Realty and Mortgage is a real estate concern started in 2005 by shawnacy Nauroth  and John Robison.  They were both hard working Realtors and loan officers looking for a brokerage company to meet their needs.  since what they were looking for did not exist, they created Excel Realty and Mortgage.  By 2006, they refined their business plan and started hiring experienced agents that shared their vision.  Since 2006 the company they started has become one of the fastest growing independently owned real estate and mortgage companies in Northern California.  Excel Realty and Mortgagw has sold and financed over two billion in property.

One of the principals of the operation approached SignWorks to reproduce a sign that he had had custom made in Canada. The sign combined raised brushed aluminum letters mounted to colorized Acrylic backer, which would then be mounted to the lobby wall using metal stand offs. The end result was nothing short of breathtaking.

Based on a picture that the owner provided and the measurements 24” by 52”, we began the task of replicating the layout using our design station software. Once the layout was approved we ordered the dimensional letters and logo shape from Gemini, our wholesale dimensional signage provider. (We love the quality and life time warranty associated with Gemini products and have become very loyal to the brand based on the quality of their products).

Next we ordered the acrylic panel from a local supplier and then went about the task of matching the rich burgundy paint needed to colorize and back paint the panel. Assembly was accomplished using the pattern supplied with the dimensional letter/logo order and a gluing agent. We hope that you will agree with our assessment that the sign turned out wonderfully!
