Custom Sandblasted Business Signs in San Francisco, CA for The Rainforest Café

If you’re into restaurants, especially unique ones, then I’m sure you’re familiar with San Francisco’s Rainforest Café at Fisherman’s Wharf. This fun to dine in restaurant has lots of stuff to look at and an awesome aquarium. The kids will love it and the shopping experience before or after dining is an added plus. The restaurant uses custom paint colors for its on-site signs that help patrons navigate their way around the restaurant and shop.

When we were contacted by the restaurant’s management, they were looking for some additional sandblasted signs. The vendor they had been using was being unresponsive and they were looking

for a new vendor with the promise that more orders would follow, not just at that location, but at others. We’re happy to say that we have already completed multiple signs at this location across two separate orders.

The sandblasting process allows for a textured wood look regardless of whether High Density Urethane (HDU), Redwood or Cedar is used. The process skims away some of the material so that raised lettering, shapes or text remains while the background is recessed. Sandblasted signs are very prevalent in rustic and woodsy areas such as parks and beaches. And, HDU is becoming a popular choice given its environmentally friendly characteristics. It doesn’t rot and is impervious to birds and their droppings.
