Project Update |Calvin Simmons School Modernization, Oakland, CA

_______________________________________________________________________________________

We’re bursting with pride on the completion of the Calvin Simmons School modernizations and to have been the selected signage vendor on the project. We worked with FOCON Inc., who participated on the project as a subcontractor to Cahill Construction. They brought us in as their signage vendor. Large building projects like these take a while and there were several revisions to the signage specifications and drawings during the lengthy building process. We worked on providing detailed submittals documents but as the project grew nearer to completion there were many revisions to drawings and sign quantities.

The project entailed providing the exterior dimensional lettering and all of the interior tenant identification and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) signs. The interior ADA signs were acrylic signs of varying sizes while the exterior wheelchair accessibility signs were ¼” thick aluminum signs with raised symbols and Braille. SignWorks worked diligently on this project for over a year before the signs were approved, fabricated and installed.

SignWorks is please to offer detailed project management services on large building packages to include signage submittal drawings, design proofs and vendor fabrication services. If you are interested in a quote for a signage package (or in understanding our project management skills in more depth) you can reach us at 510-357-2000 or by sending an email to info@signworks.us.com.
