Newark, CA – Overview of Our Top-Rated Car A/C Repair Services for Mini Coopers

Posted in: Industry News

Most A/C complaints come from an A/C that blows warm air. Starting with a function test, we satisfy ourselves that obvious aspects of the system are OK. Your A/C system may only need recharging, but our air conditioning function test will let you know that all problems have been found and remedied. There is no point in simply recharging the system only to find the new refrigerant leaks out as soon as you turn the system on.

During the initial inspection, we establish the type of refrigerant your system needs. Someone may have recharged the system with an unsuitable refrigerant. If the system needs a recharge, there probably is a leak. A visual inspection will detect obvious causes of problems.

A system performance test comes next and allows us to define if the difficulty is with the refrigerant, electrical, or air distribution systems. Our air conditioning test machine will quickly find the source of the problem.

Cabin air filters become blocked with contamination over time; low airflow to the cabin may be resolved by replacing this inexpensive part. For those with allergies, a HEPA cabin air filter can detoxify your cabin of pollen-size particles.

If the visual inspection does not find a leak, we will perform a leak-down check focusing on the three components where the hose connections are likely to leak. During this check, we put the system under pressure and employ our sniffer to find the source.

Evaporator

The evaporator is on the forward floor of the cabin, under the dashboard. Replacing the evaporator is expensive, so we must rule that out first. The refrigerant changes from a liquid to a gas here, cooling the air around it. A fan blows outside air past the evaporator, where the air is cooled. The cool air goes through the cabin air filter, then to the cabin cooling you.

Compressor

A bad bearing is a usual reason for replacing air conditioning compressors. The A/C compressor compacts the refrigerant, heating it and pushing it through the system. Following the compressor, the refrigerant is pressurized and hot. When we replace a compressor, we install a filter to hold contamination circulating through the system from failed parts. Fragments left in the system from an earlier component failure frequently cause new part failure.

Condenser

The condenser is at the front of the car. Following the compressor, the refrigerant goes to the condenser. Here the refrigerant changes from gas to a liquid, releasing heat in the process of condensation.

We will promptly diagnose your air conditioning system difficulties and economically fix them. Even though our prices are modest compared to dealer service, we use OEM-quality parts and do not concede quality. Call or visit our website for an appointment to get you on the road in comfort.
