A lot of older churches have large windows, which look nice. But, without a way to filter the sun, it can get really hot in the summer months. We specialize in window tinting film solutions for churches, as well as homes, businesses, commercial buildings and more.

We received a call from Bethlehem United Methodist Church because they were having problems with heat and glare. Bethlehem United Methodist Church is an older building that features large windows. You can see an example in the image above. This is an historic building and a landmark in Franklin, TN, so it was important to preserve the look, by installing window tinting films.

There are a lot of different types of window tinting films. One option are metal window films that have a reflective, mirror-like finish on the outside.  These can create a great effect, especially with high-rises, office buildings and hotels. But since Bethlehem United Methodist Church is an older, historic building, it was important to add window tinting films that were very subtle.

Instead of metal window films, we installed ceramic films. Specifically, we installed Huper Optik’s Patented Ceramic 30 film, which filters out most of the sun’s unwanted UV rays, and also drastically reduces the amount of heat that passes through the window.  Beside making people uncomfortable with heat and glare, the sun’s UV rays can cause damage to interior furnishings too. Inside the church, our client wanted to make sure to protect the wood as well as the fabric cushions on the pews.  Fabrics can fade in just months if they are exposed to UV rays for a prolonged amount of daily time.
