That’s why we stick to what works, which is all we know how to do. When it comes to our roast beef sandwiches, there’s no other better way.

Going Back To The Beginning

Many of us have a strong connection to the way we grew up, to the things we grew up with, and where we grew up. It’s no different for us here at Top Round. We grew up in places like St. Louis and Buffalo, places that prided themselves on old school roast beef sandwiches. These were sandwiches that didn’t just taste good but used real ingredients too.

We wanted to bring that same quality to you. That’s why all of our Top Round locations, including this one in Fort Lauderdale, FL, have built-in kitchens. These aren’t just places to store lots of frozen products that might look like meat or buns. These are places where we prepare the food with our chefs.

What Makes A Good OG Roast Beef Sandwich?

The OG way isn’t just about a good backstory. It’s about doing the right things each and every day. It’s about loving the grind and knowing you’re serving a great community. So, how do we make those sandwiches great?

The first thing we do is we don’t take any shortcuts. It’d be easy to get cheap, fake ingredients, but we don’t do that. We use 100% beef in our sandwiches each and every time. Nothing else added in, no filler, no preservatives. We just use beef.

The second thing we do is take care of our ingredients. With our roast beef, that means slow-roasting big cuts for up to 10 hours. This isn’t easy stuff, but we know our customers are worth it in the end.

It’s also about what we do with that beef when it’s ready. We like to add ingredients that complement the beef. For example, our Beef & Cheese sandwich comes slathered in house cheese “wizz” and round sauce. Our Beef On Weck sandwich comes with plenty of atomic horseradish and a caraway and sea salt bun.

There’s more too. Our Bar-B-Cue sandwich comes with Provel cheese, BBQ sauce, and fried pickles. Also, the roast beef is chopped! There’s also our Horse & Hole sandwich, which comes with roasted mushrooms, Provel cheese, horseradish cream, and a sesame bun.

But we didn’t think any menu of OG roast beef sandwiches would be complete without an actual OG Roast Beef sandwich. That’s why we went and made one. You’ll get the slow-roasted roast beef, the bun, some seasoning, au jus, and that’s it.
