Driveway and walkway pavers can become dull, stained, and prone to weed growth. At Under Pressure Cleaning & Sealing, we have sealing and cleaning services offered to give the pavers a refresh and keep them looking good longer.
Basic and Deep Cleaning
Pavers can begin looking good again with a simple wash with pressurized water. Often, this is enough to remove dirt, dirt, grime, and stains. It helps to get other debris that a broom can’t get to. It is also the first step for more advanced cleaning.
If the pavers have more suborn stains, specialized equipment and cleaning solutions are used to loosen the embedded dirt, stains, and algae that might have been there for years.
Joint Sand Replacement
If the sand between the pavers is low or even gone completely, replacement can help. Joint sand keeps weeds from growing and keeps the pavers evenly spaced. Replacing the joint sand restores the stability of the pavers and keeps them looking good.
Fixing Cracks or Replacing Pavers
If one or some of the pavers have large cracks, holes, or other physical damage, they can be filled to make them look new again. The process will depend on the material of your pavers.
If the pavers have too much damage, we suggest replacing them. This process includes digging out the old paver, making the base even again, and adding the new paver with joint sand to keep it in place.
Paver Sealing
In addition to cleaning and repairing paver, we recommend sealing them to help protect them from new damage and tough stains.
Sealing also helps to keep the sand in place and prevent weeds from sprouting up between them.
A Quick Overview of the Paver Cleaning Process
- Preparation: First, we make sure any furniture, decorations, or vehicles are covered.
- Cleaning: Next, we use a pressure washer and biodegradable solution; we spray down the pavers to loosen and remove dirt.
- Rinse and Repeat: We check to see if any lingering dirt is still stuck on the pavers. Then, if needed, we apply a second dose of cleaner and spray again.
- Weed Removal: We remove plants between the pavers to keep the area clear for new sand.
- Sand Replacement: Once the pavers are clean, joint sand is added or replaced to keep the pavers spaced and stable.
- Sealing: Next, the pavers are sealed if you wish.
