Room ID and Suite Signs in San Diego Follow California ADA Rules!
Posted in: Industry News
Did you know that California has unique rules, which add to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)? Most importantly, did you know that some of these rules affect your signage? Here is what you need to know about room ID and suite signs in San Diego.
Case Study: Bringing the Federal Building in Downtown San Diego into Compliance
Our sign shop had an opportunity to work with Hansel Phelps recently. This construction firm took charge of a renovation taking place at the Federal Building. With the project nearing its completion, the company contacted us to handle the ADA signs.
The federal courthouse needed several signs that would identify permanent rooms. As noted by the ADA and California law, there would have to be specific signs that depict the information. Moreover, these products have to display distinct color contrasts, fonts, and Braille II dots.
Our technicians created shop drawings that we then translated into tangible signage products. Finally, we sent a team of expert installers to the location to ensure the proper mounting of the signs at the appropriate heights and places.
Are You Confident in Your Room ID and Suite Signs in San Diego?
Federal Building managers can be confident in their signage products. They all meet the specifications of the law. However, this is not true for all companies. Even if you purchased a sign at a big box office supply store, there might be problems with the mounting height or location.
For this reason, we offer our clients the opportunity to have team members come out and inspect their signage setups. If you need new signs, we will tell you. Moreover, if there are problems with the installation, we can disclose that, too. Of course, if you already know that you need new signage, it is now time to put it together.
