The new normal.  What does that really mean?  Well, it’s a developing scenario as we learn over time.  What we do know is that many virus’s and flu’s are spread through airborne and surface contact. COVID-19 has raised the stakes even higher with it’s contagious rate. The virus has been reported by the World Health Organization of having a contagion rate of roughly 2-2.5 which means an infected person will spread the disease to about 2.2 people on average. That makes it more contagious than the seasonal flu. The current standard to end the pandemic is that this metric needs to fall below 1. Having said that we may be in this Pandemic phase for quite a while. In addition to the current situation, we will be moving into the flu season in about 6 months.

We all know and we’ve all hopefully observed that if you sneeze or you cough, you should sneeze or cough into the nook of your arm so that we don’t send particles that are leaving our mouth or nose to possibly infect someone else. Just as the use of masks helps prevent the spread. Many of us could be walking around with the virus. Maybe we have no symptoms but we might be able to transmit the virus. Currently the science suggests that the most common method of transmission is the little droplets of fluid that are emitted when we sneeze or cough.

The spread of illness is something all workplaces should want to avoid, both to maintain a healthy and happy workforce, and to ease the minds of customers who visit. For many years, plastic screens or splash shields have been designed and used to prevent food contamination in restaurants, buffets, and take-out areas. Clear sneeze guards have since found a home in a number of industries creating a barrier between store clerks, bank tellers, and receptionist and their customers. This helps protect both employees and guests from the spread of infectious illnesses, especially in peak seasons.

With the slow opening of businesses social distancing guidelines will be more difficult to adhere to, that’s where we come in!

Our acrylic sneeze guards are ideal for any point-of-sale counter top, including cash registers, and any other high-traffic area such as bank tellers, coffee shops, reception desks, within crowded offices along cubicles, as well as on take-out pick-up locations. Custom sneeze guards can be temporary free-standing structures or attached to surfaces with stand-offs within your business. These custom sneeze guards can be cut and styled to any space and surface, branded with vinyl or engraving, as well as routed around credit card slots allowing passage through.

By introducing a physical plastic barrier between employees and guests you can protect those who are within your business. By showing everyone that you are invested in protecting the health of those who work for you as well as those who decide to frequent your location, you are in turn promoting the longevity and health of our business.

If you have a workspace where people have relatively close, unobstructed contact, give us a call and we can provide our standard shields or create a custom shield that fits your specific configuration.

We believe that getting you noticed (and keeping our community safe) is PARAMOUNT!
