Cars are literally everywhere you look, you can’t avoid them, so what better way of advertising than to employ car wraps? Wrap film is a high-tech covering made of vinyl which is precisely applied to a customers’ vehicle by the highly trained technicians at Dallas Digital Signs & Graphics. Wrap film is so precisely made that looking at it for the first time then you would easily mistake the wrap for a custom paint job because it is just that good. In the vehicle wrapping world, there are two basic types of wraps- the first, graphic wraps, are normally used by business to create effective, rolling advertising
So effective, that it has been measured that a vehicle in a metropolitan area that drives just 15,000 miles per year is seen by over 8 million potential customers EVERY YEAR! And the single-time expense will typically keep paying back for 5 to 7 years! Dallas Digital uses state of the art Latex printers to print any imaginable graphic image on high quality films from 3M, Avery or Oracal. The film is then laminated with a crystal clear vinyl that will protect the image from both damage, and the harmful effects of the sun. Then the real work begins as we painstakingly apply the images to our customers vehicles. Using specialized tools and a high degree of skill, the flat image is formed to the contours of the vehicle and trimmed precisely to fit.
The second type of wrap, more commonly seen on high end personal vehicles is called a color-change wrap. Not because the film itself changes color, but it is used to temporarily change the stock color of the car or truck to something mild or something wild! Color change film comes in hundreds of colors, and the latest films even have textures such as carbon fiber and brushed metal- looks that are impossible to duplicate with paint. The biggest advantage is that the vinyl can be removed in the future, restoring the car to it’s original factory paint condition, and while it is on, the vinyl actually protects the paint from damage and oxidation. For color change wraps, matte black is currently the most popular, but newer films like brushed stainless steel, and even Chrome are catching up fast.
