Tips on Choosing a Moving Company 7 | Never work with a mover that requires payment before they unload

You shouldn’t pay a mover before they unload your items.  Moving is not only about packing and transporting your household goods. It’s also about unloading your items in an organized manner.  In advance, you should decide which room each piece of furniture should end up.  You also need to make sure each box is labeled with the room for delivery at your destination.

One of the most important parts of any moving job is making sure that the right boxes and furniture are delivered to the right parts of your house.   Getting your belongings dropped off at the curb in front of your house does not finish the moving job.

If you pay before the truck is unloaded, there are plenty of movers that may not finish the job properly.  Just the other day I heard a story about a client who, although they used a mover their realtor had referred, still had a bad experience.  Once they arrived at the new property, the mover demanded payment before unloading the truck.  After they received payment, instead of delivering the boxes to the proper rooms in the house, they left all of the boxes in the garage!  A reputable mover would have finished the job properly, making sure that all furniture and boxes are moved to the right part of the house.

We move the BEST… Shouldn’t we be moving YOU?
