Solar Energy Control recently completed a window film installation project for Gradient Financial Group in Arden Hills, MN. They contacted us with a desperate need for solar control window film, and we had just the right resources to provide what they were looking for!

Gradient Financial Group moved into an existing office building which has glass that is slightly tinted from the manufacturer when originally constructed. These windows face East, West, and South so the effects of the sun are felt throughout the day, especially for the staff members who’s desks look toward the windows. The large amount of solar heat, and the extensive glare problem, is what brought them to us for our window film installation services. With their building’s upgraded A/C system barely able to keep up with cooling the building, and staff struggling to view computer screens because of the intense glare, we provided a series of window film options for our client to choose from.

We suggested three variations of architectural dual-reflective dark tinted films for the solution to their issues, as well as answering their need for an unchanged exterior view of the windows (meaning no silver or mirror-like finish). The films that were suggested were a 25% visible light transmission with 72% glare reduction, and 66% total solar energy reduction; a 15% visible light transmission with 83% glare reduction, and 75% total solar energy reduction; and finally, a 7% visible light transmission with 94% glare reduction, and 84% total solar energy reduction. With all three options laid out for our client to see, they opted to go with the darkest of the films, the 7% visible light transmission.

In the images above, and below, you can see the completed installation of the window film for Gradient Financial Group. The staff received immediate relief from the glare and now the facility’s A/C is able to keep the environment comfortable for the employees and guests. The project was an absolute success with a very satisfied client!
