Window Film Accomplishes More Than Just Being Energy Efficient!

Installing window film on your home or office windows can help save your skin!  Is that hard to believe?  Not according to Perry Robins, MD, President of The Skin Cancer Foundation.  He states;

To see the damage that untreated glass can do, take a close look at the furnishings in your home that are hit by direct sunlight.  If the sun has faded the color of your sofa, it can just as easily damage your skin when you sit there.

We’ve all heard about how damaging the sun’s UVA and UVB rays are to our skin when we’re outside, so we guard ourselves with sunscreen or covering up.  It’s not as well known, but just as true, that UV rays also enter our homes and offices through windows.  UVB rays are blocked by glass, but that same unprotected glass allows at least 50 percent of the UVA rays to pass right through.  Exposure to these UVA rays, which deeply penetrate our skin, end up causing us to have more wrinkled, rough and sagging skin.  They also damage our furnishings, curtains and carpets.  Window film is a wise choice because it offers up to 99.9 percent of UVA protection!

Window film for residential and commercial applications has become quite sophisticated and does more than just protect our skin and belongings.  They also reduce energy costs, which means saving your hard earned money.  During hot weather, the window film reduces air conditioning costs by cutting down the heat that enters the building.  During cold weather, the heat is reflected back inside, thereby reducing heating costs.  All year long, the window film is helping extend the life of your HVAC system!

There are also safety films available that help protect us from broken or flying glass caused by severe weather or an attempted break-in.  Take a few moments to talk with Solar Energy Control about the variety of window films available for your home or office.  We can help you make the best decision when choosing window film for your application.  Please call us at 763-354-2838 or send us an email at info@solarenergycontrol.net.
