Encino, CA – Acrylic Standoff Signage for Surgery Center

Posted in: Client Examples

Burnett Design Group is an interior designer that we have worked with for a couple of years. They do interior design work for both residents and businesses and sometimes the businesses need interior signage. They were recently working on the interior of Pacific Ritz Surgery Center in Encino, California. Another one of their clients that we’ve made interior signs for is Calabasas Dermatology. Pacific Ritz was interested in getting signs in the hallway for the entrances, and one for the reception area.

As you can see from the photos, we made three different acrylic backer signs for them. The information is mounted onto an acrylic backer panel which is then mounted onto the wall or door. The benefits of having an acrylic backer sign or any sign with a backer that is installed with standoffs is that installation, removal, and relocation are all fairly simple. Once you know where the standoffs need to go, you just need to screw the barrels into the wall, align the holes on the panel to the standoffs, and screw in the cap to the standoffs. Depending on the size of the sign there can be multiple standoffs, but there are definitely fewer holes in the wall compared to stud mounting the sign. When we stud mount letters to the wall, each letter has a few studs. When the sign needs to be removed you simply unscrew the caps and take the panel down. There are only a few holes in the wall that need to be filled, and the sign has been taken down without damage. Sometimes, dimensional letters can get damaged when they’re being pulled off of the wall and can’t necessarily be reused.

To make sure that the glossiness of the acrylic was in the forefront, the logo was reverse printed onto clear vinyl and applied on the back of the panel. Etched vinyl was then applied on top of the digital print on the back to create a frosted glass effect.
