Canoga Park, CA – Room Identification for Church

Posted in: Client Examples

First Baptist Church of Canoga Park had reached out to us for some classroom signs along with other exterior signage. We made them a set of flag-mounted, double-sided, digitally printed sibond signs. As you can see from the photos, flag-mounted signs are perpendicular to the wall so you can see them from the side. This was important because visitors walk up to the building, Snyder Hall, that houses the classrooms from the side of the doors and not head on. They already had the classroom number on a couple of the doors, however, they wanted to make it easier for visitors to identify the different classrooms. The signs are also double-sided so the information can be seen regardless of which direction you’re walking toward the building.

The brackets are made to a specific size and we made the inserts to match the size. We used sibond because it’s a lightweight material that is generally inexpensive but is durable enough for outdoor use. Sibond works great for both interior and exterior signs as a backer panel and it comes in brushed aluminum and white which are both very common background colors. Sibond is a black polycarbonate that is sandwiched between two sheets of aluminum. As it is a flat surface, we mount digital prints on it all the time. This is what we did for the classroom signs for First Baptist Church of Canoga Park. The logo was digitally printed, and we used black vinyl for the lettering. Digital printing allows us to get the specific colors that the client needs, but pre-colored vinyl lasts longer but can peel. There are pros and cons to both solutions, so we used the appropriate medium for the different parts of the sign.

The sibond panels are mounted into the brackets at our shop, and the entire thing is screwed into the wall on-site.
