Fire Department

Want to know how a restoration company successfully mitigated a sewage backup at a fire department? Read on to find out!

We here at the Service Team of Professionals in Charlotte, SW, recently donated our restoration and cleaning services to the Sharon Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD).

Sharon Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1950. They started their ambitious yet successful journey with just one fire engine. The department comprises of a group of volunteers from the community who want to help Sharon and its surrounding areas during times of crisis.

We got to know that SVFD was facing an issue with a sewage backup. The Fire Chief discovered that the septic system that the department shares with the city park had overflowed. The dirty sewage water had flown out of the restroom and gained entry into the station. That’s when the fire Chief decided to call us in and entrust us with the critical task of sewage backup cleanup so they could resume their routine work as soon as possible.

Sewage Backup Cleaning and Damage ControlWaste Water

The first step to ensure effective cleanup of dirty sewage water is to act quickly and find the source of the backup. That’s exactly what our team did! We located and stopped the running toilet.

After stopping the overflowing water, our skilled team got rid of the dirty water from all of the affected areas. We made sure to disinfect every bit of the affected surface as well to avoid the risk of any left-behind pollutants that may have later caused harm to the volunteers at the department.

The next and final step was to make sure that the cleaned and disinfected areas were dried thoroughly to avoid the risk of water damage and mold growth. We used air movers to ensure that every inch of the affected surfaces was as dry as possible. Before leaving the premise, we also made sure that our client at SVFD was completely satisfied with our service.
