Home Painting & Repairs Project in Camarillo, CA for Chris S. Took EXTRA Prep

Not all projects are as simple as others.  Sometimes all we have to do is a little bit of prep work and then repaint our customer’s home,  building or offices. In this case, we had to do a whole lot more to get this Camarillo home ready to be painted.

As you can see in the image to the left, our client, Chris S., had a home that had an exterior that was weathered, and in need of a lot of TLC.  Older homes, like this one, can suffer extensive damage from the elements over the years if not properly maintained. Then, when it comes time to getting around to repainting your home, there is a lot more work to be done that could have been avoided.

We really had to do a lot of prep work on this home before we could get to painting. We had to pressure wash the home, repair split and broken pieces of siding, replace all the caulking where needed, and then seal all wood surfaces to protect from moisture damage. You can see, in the BEFORE image at the bottom of this article, how much work we had to do to the home before painting.  Once we were ready, and all the prep work was done and had dried, we added a full oil based coat of primer, followed by two coats of Dunn Edwards Premium Finishes brand paint.

It’s a good idea to have a company inspect the exterior of your home for leaks, chipped paint, and other potential problems every five years or so.  Catching problems before they develop can save a lot of money in the end.
