Window Perforation at the Smile Dr

We recently did a window and wall graphic project for the Smile Dr, a dentistry practice in Fullerton, CA.  The Smile Dr came to us with a couple of problems that they needed help with.  The offices of the Smile Dr are in a retail center that gets a lot of foot traffic, both during business hours and after thanks to the large number of restaurants in the shopping center.  So, although they have a nice channel letter sign above their front door, it is not visible to walk up traffic due to the large awnings in the center.  You actually have to be across the street to see their channel letter sign.  Secondly, even with the awning, their customers get sun in their eyes while in the front waiting room in the afternoon.  Third, the Dr wanted his phone number visible to prospective patients that frequent the shopping center after hours. Finally, the Smile Dr wanted to enhance the interior look that they have in the offices including French doors and a set of wall shelves with sliding doors for housing patient records.

We suggested the following signage to solve their issues.  First, we suggested colored window graphics on laminated vinyl with the Smile Dr logo on both of the front glass doors.  This fixes the issue of walk up traffic not knowing what business they are walking by.  It also added some pop to the front of the offices with a splash of color.

Second, we suggested window perforation – a specialty vinyl that has holes in it that allows visibility out but limited visibility in, and can carry a design printed on the exterior of the vinyl.  This is the same type of vinyl widely used on buses and automobiles when they are wrapped.  We designed three options for the Smile Dr that tied in with their color scheme, and we included the company name and phone number on the vinyl.  This effectively fixed the issue of the sun getting in the eyes of the patients in the waiting room as well!

Next we suggested etched cut vinyl logos on the two interior French doors, with “office” on the door into the office.  This etchmark vinyl looks like the windows have been sandblasted with the Smile Dr logo and really adds some sophistication to their offices.

Finally, we took the three panel sliding doors that cover their records area and suggested a serene ocean scene.  The office has a large aquarium that we felt the scene would fit nicely with.  The Dentist likes sea turtles, so we used that theme and did a very impactful wall wrap on the sliding doors ensuring the graphic would look “correct” when the three doors were closed.

The results were tremendous!  The Smile Dr truly appreciated not only the design, the choice of materials and the finished look, but also the fact that we solved the problems they presented us with in an economical way!  Their new signage will help promote their business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
