Custom Block Wall Wraps and Graphics Motivate Students at Schools in Orange Co

Located at 301 North Gilbert Street, Savanna High School is part of the Anaheim Union High School District. Its brand color is dark red. The Cal State Fullerton Gear Up campaign recently needed our shop to size, produce, and install block wall wraps and graphics in Orange County, CA.

Working with a Returning Client on a Campaign Graphics Product

Frequent readers of our blog know that we do a lot of work for CSUF. Examples include the signs for the Fresh Kitchen Restaurant on campus. More recently, we did some retro wall graphics for the Student Union. This particular project we now took on was for the Auxiliary Services Department. CSUF paid for the wall wrap, which is intended to inspire students to “gear up” and ready themselves for their college careers while still in high school.

Adapting a Graphics Compilation for a Cinder Block Wall

For this particular project, the artwork was already fully designed. You notice that it incorporates wayfinding markers for the HS campus while also featuring its unique color palette. CSUF is predominantly featured toward the right of the long wrap. Our technicians went to the school, took measurements, and noted the wall’s makeup.

Next, we sized the graphics to print for the wall’s dimensions and set up the elements for print. Since cinder block needs a particular treatment, we used high-tack, conformable vinyl that makes the finished product look as though the graphics were painted on. The finished wall wrap is visually compelling, ideally suited for integrating with the campus’s color palette, and expertly set up to advertise CSUF as a possible destination for HS seniors after graduation.

How Do We Choose the Vinyl for Our Projects?

Superior Signs and Graphics technicians underwent 3M manufacturer training. Working with the product makers was an invaluable experience because we had the opportunity to explore a variety of product options, learn the best installation practices, and go hands-on. As a result, we are 3M preferred installers.

This training helped us select vinyl based on whether there are plenty of curves to deal with or straight lines. Also, we understood how to choose vinyl for exterior walls so that we could coax the maximum durability out of the product.

Most importantly, the training has enabled us to save clients money. For example, when designing partial vehicle wraps, we can focus on the straight lines of the car, truck, or van rather than the curvatures. By following this design option, we can use a less expensive type of vinyl that creates attractive savings for the client’s project.
