Bolsa Grande High School at 9401 Westminster Boulevard is part of the Garden Grove Unified School District. Recently, the administration contacted our sign shop to discuss the design of wall graphics in Orange County, CA.

Designing, Producing, and Installing Large Wall Graphics for the Admissions Building

We worked with the client on the vision for the product. Besides that, we received specs for the mascot, the Matador, and the school’s color palette. Because of our 3M Preferred Installer training, we knew to conduct a wall adhesion test. Doing so was critical because we ran into some tough-to-stick-to surfaces in the process.

With the results of the 3M wall adhesion test kit in hand, we selected the right vinyl media for the surfaces. Next, we designed graphics focusing on the school’s name, color palette, and mascot. These are the first images prospective new students see when entering.

Another part of the project was completing a word wall focusing on the school’s mission and vision. Once again, we incorporated the school’s red, white, and blue colors while also changing fonts to create aesthetic breaks. Look closely, and you will notice that some vinyl parts had to be installed over wall features.

We were able to do so without calling attention to the slight changes in the surface. Now, as parents and students enter the Admissions building, the school spirit and the facility’s commitment to excellence in education immediately welcome them.

Signage Solutions for School Spirit Displays

You already know that vinyl wall graphics are budget-friendly solutions to imbuing a larger space with the school spirit with which you want to welcome newcomers to the location. However, they are not your only options.

• Pole banners. For the parking lot or the plaza in front of the entrance, consider what you could do with a set of pole banners. Choose single or double installations. Additionally, consider the message you want them to send. Many clients have had excellent success with the selection of words and colors that symbolize the school.
• LED reader boards. The LED reader board is one of the most versatile signs currently on the market. You control it from your office, which means that you can engage newcomers and visiting parents in real-time. Schedule encouraging messages, post a “joke of the day,” highlight sports events, or tell the students what the cafeteria is serving up today.
• Window wraps. Many school buildings have rooms that are no longer in active use. Frequently, they are used for band or athletic department storage. Other rooms have “blind” windows, which means that renovations changed the structure to such an extent that the glass surfaces are hidden behind furniture. We recommend full window wraps for these surfaces. They bring your color palette into play, look great, and support your school spirit message.
