Wall Mural Helps Recognize Community Sponsors at Boys and Girls Club Buena Park!

Posted in: Client Examples

wall murals in Buena Park CAIf you have read our blog for any length of time, you know that we are very involved with the Boys & Girls Club of Buena Park. Not only do we donate to their programs, but our daughter is also a part-time employee at the venue during the summers. Over the years, we have done vinyl wall lettering for the venue, put together wall graphics for the Fiesta Fundraiser, manufactured sponsor signs and storyboards, and switched a few things around when the organization needed to present sponsor levels at gold, silver, and bronze marks. It is clear that we enjoy working with repeat clients, particularly with this group that provides its services to our community.

When the organization contacted us this time, the team wanted to discuss a visual spruce-up of the gymnasium that gets plenty of use. Inside, there are the basketball court and the full-size rock-climbing wall. As a result, the organization wanted to use the walls for sponsor recognition boards. Could we have just glued the boards to the wall? Sure! But we did not go for easy; we went for great-looking with a purpose!

Wall Murals in Buena Park CA, Offer Room for Growth

We designed a wall wrap that shows a black framing and displays panel images of children enjoying the group’s services. We alternated these graphics boards with two-foot-by-two-foot panels presenting the Boys & Girls Club logo. These alternating spots are slated for donor name and logo displays.

However, because we did not want to leave blank spaces that make the wall look unfinished, we placed the group’s logo there instead. As a result, the wall of the gymnasium now looks great, presents a cohesive look, and is ideally suited for the presentation of future donor information. Hopefully, there will be plenty of community sponsors coming forward so that we can recognize them in their spots. We look forward to the day that we can go back and continue the wall wrap with another set of panels.

Going beyond the Wall Wrap

  • Plaques. Metal plaques are a time-honored method for remembering donors across the decades. You often see them in churches and synagogues as well as in museums and similar facilities.
  • Engraved acrylic panels. A contemporary spin on the cast or etched metal plaque is the engraved acrylic panel. The material is modern and makes for an eye-catching display in hallways and lobbies. It is ideal for private foundations.
  • Mounted prints. This budget-friendly option is a very good idea for a group that hosts fundraising events and wants to combine images from these occasions with lettering that identifies the names and likenesses of those who contributed at the time. Animal shelters and grassroots organizations do very well with this medium.
