Graphics and Wraps Help Brand Orange County High School Football Stadium

Posted in: Client Examples

Located at 2301 West MacArthur Boulevard in Santa Ana, Segerstrom High School is the home of the Segerstrom Jaguars, the school’s athletes. Jaguar Stadium is currently undergoing upgrades. The school’s administrators contacted us after the new turf field and all-weather track were installed. The stadium already features a press box that is a converted storage container. It used to be beige and presented with the corrugated finish that makes these containers so easy to recognize.

During our meeting with the client, we discussed graphics and wraps for school football stadiums in Orange County, CA. Although we would have loved to accommodate the school and wrap the press box, the deep ridges made the surface unsuitable for the display of a design. Would we be unable to serve our client? No! We had a workaround ready to go!

Treated Aluminum Panels Provide the Customization Opportunity

Our technicians suggested the use of aluminum panels that we would pre-treat at the shop with the graphics the school wanted to display. We would then install these panels to the back of the press box with our lift truck. Since the box’s front windows are usually closed when there is not a football game, we suggested wrapping the shutters with the letters of the team’s name and with the mascot’s image.

The client agreed and had the box painted black before the panels’ installation date. Because we used a matte finish on the wraps, there will be no glare when the stadium lights come on. Now, the box looks sleek, matches the appearance of the banners that hang below it, and creates an attractive, welcoming appearance for home game attendees. Next, the school plans to continue its stadium upgrades with a new scoreboard and a rendition of the logo in the field’s center.

Collaborating with Clients is our Goal

There are times when it is simply not possible to create a signage outcome in the manner that the customer envisions it. That said, there is always the opportunity for a workaround. Our graphic artists are well versed in their craft but to do their jobs well, they follow a proven approach.

  • Listen to the client. Before we do anything, we listen to our client’s vision of the finished product. Even if we do not think that the customer’s approach is feasible, we take down all the information.
  • Look for the proposed sign’s message. Now, we hone in on the message or intent of the sign. Does the client want to send a particular marketing message or branding communication to the audience? Once we know what is important to the customer, we can find a way to get the information out.
  • Work together on a solution. We offer solutions that are in keeping with our clients’ budgets and preferences. Doing so has served us well and resulted in many happy customers, many of whom come back time and again for additional products.
