We have talked a lot lately about Google, specifically their new Google Business Profile update. So this week on the blog, we wanted to help you learn even more about leveraging your Google Business Profile page to create posts that will engage your customers. This is a beginner’s guide and great for anyone who is looking to increase their ability to reach their customers.

If you have not already done so, the first step is to create and verify your listing.  Without taking this step, you can be missing out on SEO benefits, potential customers, and the opportunity to connect with your ideal market. You also cannot post updates until your listing is verified. The great thing is this is easy to do online or through the Google Business Profile app.

Once your account is ready to go, you can start creating posts (as well as a slew of other things we will not get into this week). It is basically Google’s version of a business social media account. When customers search for your business they will see recent posts you have shared. Unlike social media, they have 4 different categories of posts you can create:

  1. What’s New
  2. Events
  3. Offers
  4. Products

As you start to create your posts it is important that you follow the Google Business Profile best practices. This platform supports both .jpg and png files and multiple types of video. There are limitations with videos having to be smaller than 100MB and less than 30 seconds in length. For photos, you will need to use the ratio of 4:3 for your sizing.

We are digging in so much deeper than this when it comes to each type of post and best practices. Make sure you head over to the blog to learn more!

Do you utilize Google Ads for your business or want to in the future? If you answered “yes” to either of those then this week’s episode of Marketing and a Mic is for you! It is all about Google Ads trends that will put you on top!

Google is ever-changing and updating its platform, Google Ads included. We all know that marketing is also always in flux and the trends that worked for your marketing last year might not cut it in 2022. It is so important to stay up-to-date with the current marketing trends and updates.

We are digging right into the meat of this deep topic. Our no-fluff episode is covering important trends like:

  1. Automation
  2. New local campaign formats
  3. Google shopping
  4. First-party data and Google Ads
  5. Focusing on quality vs cost

To give you a small glimpse at this incredible episode we will talk about trend #3. Google Shopping. Google recently updated their shopping platform adding more merchant annotations to help customers find items that are on sale or sourced from specific areas, groups, and/or demographics. A great example of this is so customers can find BIOPIC-owned businesses.

As a part of this update, Google also integrated Shopify into its Google Ads platform. This is huge because it allows users to pull information from all of Google’s platforms. Now, users can promote their products for free on the google shopping tab.

Learn more about the most recent Google updates and trends by listening to this incredible podcast episode wherever you listen to podcasts.
