RainMaker Signs Frosted Glass Film Add Privacy and Branding for Foundry Interactive – Seattle, WA

Foundry Interactive, a Seattle, WA based technology firm, was looking for a solution to improve office space utilization and productivity.  The  problem was the work area near the front entry of their offices.  Like many technology companies Foundry Interactive has no formal reception area as most guests arrive with scheduled appointments.  They contact the employee when they arrive with a call or text.  The employee then greets their guest at the front entry.  As you can see in the photo above, the entry area has a large window to the left of the door.  It turned out that many of the Foundry Interactive employees were avoiding this work space because the proximity to the front entry window made them feel like they were working in a fish bowl.  They found activity outside the window distracting to their work.

Foundry Interactive contacted RainMaker Signs looking for a solution.  RainMaker Signs traveled to Foundry Interactive’s headquarters to perform a site survey.  At the scheduled appointment we took measurements of the windows and considered the context based on neighboring window treatments and lease restrictions.   Additionally, we reviewed and confirmed the goals and objectives of the project.  There was quick agreement that frosted window graphics were the perfect solution.  In addition to privacy, printing on the frosted vinyl created an opportunity to add company branding to the main entrance.

Frosted glass film (also referred to as etched glass film or dusted glass window vinyl) is an extraordinarily versatile window treatment.  Options include the following:

1.  Full window coverage or partial window coverage

2.  Printable with high resolution digital printing for custom graphics and logos directly on to the etched window film

3. Create graphic “cut outs” in the vinyl to add subtle design, branding or messaging.

The wall graphics were designed by the RainMaker Signs design team using Adobe Cloud Illustrator.  Once the design was approved by Foundry Interactive the window graphic was printed using an HP 265000 Wide Format Latex printer on frosted self adhesive vinyl.   The materials and printer were custom calibrated by RainMaker Signs to ensure high quality color management throughout the print process.  RainMaker Signs expert installers then completed the job with expert – bubble and wrinkle free- installation.
