Project: Exterior Building Sign

Client: Safeway Albertsons Beverage Plant
After the January 2015 merger of Safeway and Albertsons, they were in need of a
new exterior building sign at their production facility. We were thrilled to help with installing and designing a new exterior sign!
Looking to the picture above you can see the branding, with the Albertsons logo being the closest one. Looking to the second picture below, you can see the logos with the Safeway logo being the closest. What makes the sign different is now that the companies have merged, the logos are now placed adjacent to each other on the same sign.
In January of 2015 Albertsons acquired all outstanding shares of Safeway and a merger was completed. Albertsons, being one of the largest food and drug retailers in the United States now operates in over 18 banners, one of them being Safeway. Their mission is a simple one which consists of running great stores with great customer service.
The Albertsons and Safeway merger lead to co-branding. Co-branding in turn led to new signage, and this particular signage was exterior. In the short time it took to remove the old sign and to install the new sign, it became evident that the new signage was very important to the running of this business. The sign was a sense of identity to the employees, as we noticed many came out to snap photos while we were installing. The signage is also important for delivery trucks as well as the community.
