Hewitt Architects is a company where employees collaborate, and this wall graphic is a testimony of it. We at RainMaker Signs worked with them to install a
wall graphic that they collaboratively designed.
Looking to the picture above, you can see that the design consists of an illustration of a Russian cosmonaut life support system. Looking at the second photo below, you can see one of the parts in isolation and how each of the parts have a different function, yet they support the same end goal. This is collaboration and the graphic represents the collaborative efforts of the architects very well.
Founded in 1975 by David Hewitt, Hewitt Architects has been transforming the civic life and the Seattle region through its designs. Some of the well known works are Bell Harbor, Belltown Court, Harbor Steps, and the Sound Transit Light Rail System. The firm strongly emphasizes collaborative efforts.
Before the wall mural was installed, our experts performed a site analysis and materials test to ensure that the graphics materials adhered properly to the wall and that the signage is long lasting. A vinyl material was chosen. Our team had to carefully "weed" out this wall graphic, meaning we had to remove the excess vinyl that occupied the negative space around the intricate details since the graphic has such a high amount of detail. We were excited about the look of the finished product and their graphic designer, Alison Boscolo shared our enthusiasm.
