Mold assessment can provide peace of mind after a significant leak or flood, can help evaluate the safety of an area or act as part of a discovery process for water intrusion issues. In any case, it’s important to work with an experienced and certified team so you can get reliable and accurate results from mold testing.
Our company is located in South Florida and our area’s warm temperatures and humid climate mean mold is a constant threat for homes and businesses in our service area. We provide mold assessment services for people in Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and the surrounding areas, and we employ a team of trained, certified and experienced technicians who can help determine if your space has a mold issue.
We work with many different types of clients and have examined homes, office buildings, retail spaces and other buildings over the years. In the sections to follow, we will give a brief overview of our mold assessment process to give you a better idea of the service we can provide.
Assessment Practices
During an assessment, one of our technicians will examine the potential mold levels in your space by going through the practices listed below. Depending on the type of building and its size, the assessment can take from two to four hours, on average.
Visual Inspection
While mold isn’t always visible to the naked eye, a trained professional knows how to spot signs of mold growth and where to look for potential issues. In areas with moderate to severe issues, mold becomes more visible and can be seen if you know what to look for.
Air and Surface Sampling
Sampling is the best way to determine if the area has an issue. By using proven methods of securing samples, our technicians can secure test subjects to send to our lab for examination.
Moisture Level Examination
Taking samples is key to determining if there is existing mold growth, and pairing those samples with moisture readings will allow us to determine not only if mold is present, but if the conditions are right for mold to continue growing.
HVAC System Examination
Mold issues can be limited by a correctly working HVAC system, but a malfunctioning or dirty system can make them worse. Our technicians can check out the system to determine if it’s helping or hurting the problem.
Sample Testing
Once the assessment is complete, the technician will begin to write up their findings from their inspection and also send off any samples to our lab. Once there, it takes about three days for them to be tested. Once the results are in, the technician can complete their report and go over their findings.
Referral to Remeidators
If mold is present and needs to be removed, we can refer our clients to reputable local remediators who can give them options on removing the mold and stopping the issue. Once complete, we can re-test to give our clients peace of mind.
