This is a custom outdoor lighted building sign that we made for Revolution Dance Factory. Revolution Dance Factory is a great local dance training and development studio located in Issaquah, Washington. Taken from their website, their mission is “to provide an educational and inspirational glimpse of the dance world for children of all ages, so that they may achieve their fullest potential as dancers and leaders in their communities.” We enjoyed working with them and making this truly great-looking sign.
How It’s Made
This sign is made up of individually illuminated channel letter components. Channel letters are a three-dimensional sign product that is comprised of a few components. One of the components is the aluminum framework that we use for the sides of the channel letters. These letters come in a variety of different fonts and shapes so we can match any logo and branding elements, like a shape or icon. Then we typically paint directly onto the aluminum with a color-matched paint that exactly matches whichever color our client chooses to use with their branding.
The front panels of the channel letters are made of a weather resistant acrylic. These panels are also translucent, which allows light to pass through.
The reason these panels need to be 
translucent is because this is an illuminated sign, powered by LED lights, to allow light to be able to pass through to make the sign shine. Each individual component has its own LED lighting components installed, complete with its own ballast. With each lighting element receiving individual lighting elements, you don’t get any fading along the edges – just a very bright, clear and impactful sign.
